I am a bit surprised by the story because of how much money could
change the lives of people and how the story showed that. I feel that Mathilde
is greedy and selfish because she wants everything, but isn’t willing to work
for it. I am disgusted by her because she stays home and takes and takes from
her husband and never does anything, but still want more and better. An example
from the story is when she keeps asking if her friend had any better jewelry,
even though she couldn’t afford even the cheapest piece of jewellery
herself.
